Songs on the Wind

Songs on the Wind was another poem collection book I was published in way back in 1995. (I am on page 416. There are 697 pages of just poems.) I was in my late teens, Bill Clinton was just a couple years into his rein as president, and it was just a few years after the Gulf War had ended. I would like to share that poem with you today. I hope you enjoy it. :)

War

Country to Country

State against State

Friends against friend

Not knowing our fate

Bloodshed and tears

Smashed dreams

New fears

Heartache and sorrow

No today

No tomorrow

Brother against sister

Father against mother

It's all in the way we see each other

Loved ones that are lost

Fighting, not knowing the cost

Do we know what we are fighting for?

Someone tell me,

When will we stop the war?
