Laura D Child Hi. My name is Laura and I'm a book blogger and reviewer over at The Magic Book Corner - a book review and cover art blog that strives to cover Fantasy and Romance with all their sub-genres. It's quirky and fun and pretty much me. A hopeless romantic and fantasy addict. Me and my awesome dragon Jeff, the handsome big guy on my profile pic, are always on the hunt for new bookish gems to add to our hoard. Yep. I'm talking about the dragon. And yes, you heard that right. His name is Jeff and he is mine. Jeff is the fierce guardian of my blog, and we are both huge Indie author supporters. We read and review 200+ books a year and if we like a book we'll sing it to the world.

Q: Do you keep a book review journal?

A: Yes I do.

Q:Is this the first time you have been a judge for a contest?

A: Yes it is.

Q:Is this your favorite genre to read? If not, which one do you prefer?

A I prefer Fantasy and Romance, but read other genres too.

Q: What prompted you to be one of the judges?

A: I blog and read a lot and wanted the experience.

Katie Cherry is a young fantasy author who began writing at thirteen when her love of books outgrew the supply available. Fantasy stories- and especially dragons- are her passion. Her hobbies include playing video games, reading, and watching Netflix. As she's preparing for the arrival of her first child, she plans to focus more on reading than writing for the next few months and is excited to jump into all the adventures provided by the authors in this contest!

Q: Do you keep a book review journal? A: Never heard of this. But I'll assume Bookbub keeping track of my reviews is close enough? :) Q: Is this the first time you have been a judge for a contest? A: Yes, it's very exciting. Q: Is this your favorite genre to read? If not, which one do you prefer? A: Yes, fantasy is my first and foremost favorite genre. Magic, creatures, adventure- can't get much better than that! Q: What prompted you to be one of the judges? A: I want to focus a lot on reading this year, so this was perfect to get me started! Deadlines help organize a TBR list and help get me through it like nothing else. I'm also very curious about what's been submitted, so would be reading through the list whether I was a judge or not. Q: Is there anything you would like the contestants to know about you or the judging?

A: I'm a fantasy author myself, currently published under Fallbrandt Press, and want to help out other authors in any way I can! A rising tide lifts all boats, as they say! So I'm thankful for this opportunity to help another author gain the opportunity to work with Michael and/or Fallbrandt Press as well and get their book(s) more recognition. Good luck to all the participating authors!
